Introduction to Administrative Data and Case Mix - Web Conference

With Medicare regulations and coding rules always changing, staying current with this complex, cumbersome, and ever-evolving reimbursement system can be a challenge. The recent move to using Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Groups (MS-DRGs) was the most drastic change in decades, and presents new data analysis challenges. This Webconference will explain how to use and compare data to anticipate cash flow.

What you will learn
At the conclusion of this program, participants will:
- have command of the data collected and reported to SPARCS;
- understand the similarities and differences between the CMS and New York State grouping methodologies and how they affect DRG assignment;
- understand DRG methodologies to more effectively compare and evaluate cases;
- understand how various administrative data can be used to evaluate hospital operations, including comparison to other facilities both locally and nationally; and
- identify limitations of comparisons to understand the pitfalls and benefits of certain methodologies.

Registration Deadline is 04/16/2010. Cancellations less a 25% cancellation fee will be accepted until 04/09/2010. Cancellations after that time are not eligible for a refund. Substitutions are always encouraged even at the last minute.
